Since then, he has steadily grown the business, very often through satisfied clients recommending Certified CIO to their associates. He has worked as Director of IT for Chesapeake Research Review where he supervised implementation of new HIPAA regulations. He has also founded startups in custom IT services, strategic consulting and team management. He has been a featured in local media, including WBAL Radio, as panel member due to his IT expertise.

Prior to Tanaros, he was the CEO of All Covered (acquired by Konica Minolta) that, under his leadership, grew from a single office to the largest outsourced IT provider to US Small Business. He co-founded one of the first venture firms focused on building new enterprises in China, Generation Ventures. He was also a partner at Booz Allen Hamilton, focused on operational strategy development for technology-intensive Global 1000 Enterprises.
